Bearing Systems Case Study

Deep knowledge,
sensible solutions

Interstate Bearings Systems Delivers Extensive Product Line, Industry Expertise

An OEM using 2-gear reducers and 9-electric motors needed an upgrade with a catch. The new crossed gear reducers needed to fit in the same location, bolt for bolt. The electric motors also had to be upgraded and an improved water seal was required.

Interstate Bearing Systems in Waite Park worked with the client to supply new gear units from a single manufacturer and developed a better electric motor solution. The new products remain in use today and the client is extremely satisfied.

Interstate Bearing Systems associates have the technical expertise to provide suggestions to help increase efficiency, extend component life and reduce long-term operating costs. With deep product knowledge across industries, Bearing Systems does a lot more than fill orders. We solve problems.

Minnesota School District Relies on Power Systems for Emergency Power

When Minnesota’s Independent School District 196 needed an emergency power solution for Rosemount High School’s 2-3000 Amp services, they turned to Interstate. Our Interstate Power Systems team worked closely with the school district to plan and implement a state-of-the-art system from start to finish.

Interstate’s experts coordinated throughout the process with project engineers, contractors and OEMs to complete layout and installation.

Our team installed one MTU 800kW diesel generator and one MTU 450kW diesel generator with 3000 Amp switchboards for the two separate services. After initial startup, our team provided training, ongoing maintenance and technical support for school engineering staff to keep the systems in top working condition.

Innovative Spare Cab Process Keeps K&B on Road

I-State Truck Centers have had a long and productive partnership with K&B Transportation of South Sioux City, Nebraska. The partnership began 16 years ago when Interstate offered to have technicians from Sioux Falls work on-site with this important customer to improve truck uptime. That dedication to finding innovative solutions continues to this day.

To help K&B keep its trucks on the road, the I-State Truck Centers team developed a “spare cab” process that allows the body shop to swap out a cab damaged in a wreck with a temporary cab to get the truck back in operation quicker. In addition, I-State equipped a frame-machine bay to provide faster turnaround times for frame work needed by K&B.
